How I Got Interested in Acupuncture and Qigong
I have 20 years experience in the healthcare field. I received a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Michigan. I worked as a Medical Technologist in hospital and clinic labs across the country for 13 years. During that time, I experienced some thyroid and fertility health challenges. I became frustrated with the limited options presented to me and the tendency to consider everything "normal" just because lab results fell into a broad "normal range". I knew there had to be a different, more holistic approach to achieve health and wellness. When other areas of my personal and emotional life also began to fall apart, I began seeking help from conventional and alternative therapies. I was searching not only for restored health and balance, but also a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in my life. Eventually, I realized that I needed to stop looking outside myself for the answers and began looking for ways to develop inner wisdom and spiritual guidance. I began learning meditation and Qigong. I was initially intrigued by the energetic self-healing potential of Qigong. When I began practicing Sheng Zhen Qigong, I immediately connected with the essence of this Qigong, which is unconditional love. It felt so natural, like my body had known this practice my whole life. I felt as though I had returned "home". I began studies in Medical Qigong, and then expanded to Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin. I knew I had finally found a holistic system of healing I could embrace that was rooted in the healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
My vision is to be a partner in your Health and Healing. I want to empower you to make educated decisions about your health, by providing choices. When you work with me, I will support you in making decisions based on your inner wisdom, rather than what others think you "should do". Your body is always trying to heal itself. I use Acupuncture and Qigong energy work to help your body's own intelligence restore health and balance.

What I Do For FUN!
I moved to the Jacksonville Beach area in 2007 from Austin, Texas. I started my Acupuncture practice in Neptune Beach in April, 2008. I am blessed to work with wonderful holistic practitioners in the Beaches community.
In my spare time I enjoy everything outdoors (unless it's 90°) - kayaking, biking, camping, hiking, skiing, and my most recent activity...African drumming.
I am also committed to my personal Qigong practice, meditation, and spiritual growth.
